Rising Star Theater Camp at Ogunquit Playhouse (Ogunquit, ME)

Do you have a little Rising Star born to be in a spotlight? Ogunquit Playhouse’s Rising Star Theater Camp may be just the perfect summer activity for your little one. The camp is geared for 5-8 year old children and will run Monday through Friday from 9am to 12pm. On Friday there will be a performance for family members at the Chloe Checkoway Pavilion. Behind the Scenes tour of Ogunquit Playhouse (Ogunquit

Ever wonder what it looked like behind the scenes at a theater or how they make each performance flow seamlessly? Well here is your opportunity to see where the magic happens! Ogunquit Playhouse is offering Back Stage Tours to the public. 45 minute tours will be $5 and 90 minute tours will be $10. You will be able to see the star’s dressing rooms, green room, sound room, and wig room, along with an informative tour guide to walk you through the history of the playhouse. Come Visit the Nubble Lighthouse, an Iconic Image of New England (York, ME)

NubbleLight1Visiting the Nubble Lighthouse is fun filled historical activity that the whole family can enjoy. Located in York, ME the Nubble Lighthouse is over 100 years old and has become an iconic image that represents the beauty of New England. You can find the Nubble Lighthouse in Sohier Park surrounded by a variety of restaurants and a gift shop to pick up souvenirs from your trip. Many visitors come to Sohier Park to picnic, fish, or even scuba dive.  On July 28th  Chistmas in July is an event that cannot be missed. The lighting of the Nubble brings crowds from far and wide. The seacoast Wind Ensemble will be performing at 8pm. There will even be a visit from Santa. Whatever your reason may be to visit, you will be guaranteed a picturesque view.

Museums of Old York is Now Open (York, ME)

Unknown-3Museums of Old York is a great place to take your children for a fun filled, informative blast through the past. With several historical building, including an Old Schoolhouse, each landmark provides a unique story.  Admission is only $12 for adults and $5 for children. This is a great way to experience New England charm while learning something new.

 Directions
The Visitor Center is located at 3 Lindsay Road in York Village. From I-95, take Maine exit 7 and follow the spur road to Route 1. Bear right onto Route 1 South. At the traffic light, turn left onto Route 1A, York Street. Follow for about 1/2 mile into the center of York Village. Just before the First Parish Church (the large white church on the left) take a right onto Lindsay Road. The Visitors Center is in the Parsons Education Center, on the corner of York Street (Route 1A) and Lindsay Road. Free parking is located on the right, just past the Old Schoolhouse.
